Circuit Breakers

Upper Circuit Breaker: If less than three students, get an A, then the marks (both theory/experiment) will be scaled such that the third student
from the top gets a total of 80.

Lower Circuit Breaker: If more than 15 students are failing the course, even after considering the rescue assignment, then these students will
be asked to take an extra quiz, after additional study.

Rescue Assignment
To convert an E/F to a D, there is an additional rescue assignment that will be released after minor 2. The marks for that assignment will be added to the total.
Note, that this is only for conversion from a potential E/F to a D (not for other grades).
The final decision on the grades is made by the department in the moderation meeting. These policies can get overridden by the department.

Academic Misconduct

Academic misconduct such as cheating will not be tolerated. The work you submit in this class is     expected  to be your own. If you submit work that has in part or in whole been copied from some published or unpublished source (including current or former students), or that has been prepared by someone other than you, or that in any way misrepresents somebody else's work as your own, you will face disciplinary action.

If an assignment is found to be the same as that of somebody else, then both parties will get 0 marks for that assignment. We will additionally deduct 20 marks from the total. Secondly, a student caught cheating will not be eligible for getting a higher grade with the rescue assignment, or lower circuit breaker.
